Who would you rather be one of the others or one free of the hive mind?

So we know that the ones who weren't affected by the virus can be changed if they ask to be changed. If you were given the choice to join the others and be part of the hive mind would you? I don't think I would, if I was already affect well there's nothing I could do but if I had the choice I would choose the path that's clear, I would choose free will. (Yes I meant to quote the Rush song. :P)
